Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By actively using the Site — for example, by submitting a form or using an interactive tool — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. We do not treat mere scrolling or browsing as consent to optional cookies; cookie choices are handled separately through Cookie Preferences.

2. Eligibility and lawful use

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to submit information through the Site. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws.

3. Limited license

We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to view and use the Site for personal, noncommercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

4. Prohibited uses

• Scrape, crawl for bulk extraction, harvest, bulk download, or systematically copy Site content or data compilations (ordinary search-engine indexing is addressed in the Rights of Use notice)
• Copy, republish, sell, sublicense, frame, or mirror the Site or substantial parts of it
• Use Site content to train, fine-tune, or build datasets for artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems
• Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent an affiliation
• Upload or transmit malware, spam, or harmful code, or interfere with the Site's operation
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or attempt to bypass security or access restricted areas
• Submit false, misleading, or unlawful information through forms or tools

5. Your responsibility for decisions

The Site is general information. You are solely responsible for decisions you make and for verifying facts with the appropriate organizations and licensed professionals before acting.

6. No warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, TOOLS, AND AI-ASSISTED FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that the Site will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE BROADEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE AND OUR CONNECTED BUSINESSES, OWNERS, AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

8. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publishers and their connected businesses from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

9. Third-party links and services

The Site links to other websites and relies on service providers for hosting, data storage, fonts, and AI processing. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. Intellectual property

The Site's original text, graphics, photographs, compilations, branding, and software are owned by or licensed to the publishers and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. See the Rights of Use, Copyright & Trademark notice.

11. Feedback and submissions

If you send suggestions or corrections, you grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free right to use them to improve the Site, without obligation to you. Do not submit confidential information, passwords, or financial account details through the Site.

12. Electronic communications

When you contact us electronically, you agree that we may respond electronically. Submitting a form does not enroll you in marketing; any follow-up relates to your inquiry.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Site or any feature at any time, including for suspected misuse.

14. Changes

We may change the Site or these Terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the Terms last changed. Changes apply from that date forward.

15. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Site. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive. These Terms, together with the policies linked in the Legal Center, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site.

16. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
